共和黨準備提出分項預算案

美國眾議院共和黨領袖向同黨議員提出一項打破聯邦預算僵局的計畫，包括通一系列與個別政府機關或專案計畫有關臨時性預算案；如此雖不能解決廣泛的預算爭議，但能解除政府關門對退伍軍人及國家公園等方面的影響。不過白宮發言人卡尼針對此項計畫表示，「共和黨(這種作法)一點也不認真。如果他們想使政府開門，就應該先打開門，再來協商未來預算的優先順序」。
