國民隊Stephen Strasburg、和費城人隊Cole Hamels上演精采投手戰，前6局都沒掉分。但7局下費城人隊出現要命失誤，導致崩盤，最後國民隊以6比1贏球，Strasburg拿下本季第3勝，Hamels則苦吞今年第8敗。
7局下國民隊一出局攻占滿壘，Jhonatan Solano擊出三壘滾地球，費城人隊三壘手Michael Young傳本壘卻暴傳，原本有機會抓5-2-3雙殺，結束這個半局，反倒變成失誤、丟掉2分。接下來Stephen Lombardozzi、Denard Span兩支安打，再為國民隊攻下分數。這個半局國民隊進帳5分。
「要是幾個禮拜以前，費城人隊應該可以成功雙殺的，」國民隊Ian Desmond說，「但事情就是這樣，我們開始打出更好的表現了。」
原本Hamels有機會安全下莊，結果變成一局爆，前6局他只被擊出3支安打，還送出6K，沒有失分，但第7局掉了5分、其中2分非自責，吞下5連敗。
Strasburg則繳出8局5安、失1分，還送出9K的好成績，防禦率下降到2.49。「他最近的這兩場先發，是我看過他在大聯盟最好的兩次，」Desmon說，「他把水準提升到另一個層次，真是長進的小夥子。」 (接下一頁)
