已垂死掙扎數年的插電式混合動力車製造商Fisker Automotive Inc.終於在上週五(11月22日)聲請第11章破產保護，而香港首富李嘉誠之子李澤楷(Richard Li)參與的集團Hybrid Technology LLC已同意出手併購。

彭博社、Thomson Reuters 22日報導，才剛創立不久的Hybrid Technology同意向美國能源部支付2,500萬美元，買下Fisker遲遲無法償還的債務(總額原本多達1.68億美元)。整體來算，美國能源部對Fisker挹注的1.92億美元投資案僅收回約5,300萬美元；換句話說，納稅人總計損失了1.39億美元。

Hybrid Technology透過聲明稿表示，該公司計劃重新生產、販售Fisker已在18個月前停產的插電式混合動力車「Karma(見圖)」，並未再度展開其他混合動力電動車的研發計畫。根據不願具名的政府內部人士說法，李澤楷是Hybrid Technology的發起人之一。Karma一台要價103,000美元，包括Justin Bieber等名人都曾購入這款汽車。

Karma的設計雖然獲得市場極力讚賞，但諸多品管問題卻讓Fisker的形象嚴重受損、虧損連連。Fisker已在今(2013)年4月開除大多數的職員以便保留現金，而資金周轉困難也令該公司無法如期支付帳單，這促使能源部在10月中旬展開Fisker債務的拍賣行動。
